Nia is an expressive fitness and awareness movement program which combines the concentration of T'ai Chi, the poses of Yoga, the power of the Martial Arts, and the grace of dance to stay fit and enhance well-being. Led by one of our certified Nia instructors.

What is Nia?

“This lyrical, dance-like routine is deceptively powerful, delivering a high- powered workout that will leave you strong and centered.” -Health Magazine

Nia is an inspiring, integrative fitness & lifestyle practice for body, mind, and spirit. Nia focuses on internal guidance to develop awareness and stimulate creativity while toning, moving, and limbering the body with power and grace.

Nia is fun, it’s funky, and it creates change.

Created by Debbie and Carlos Rosas over 25 years ago, Nia blends the wisdom of DANCE ARTS (Jazz Dance, Modern Dance, Duncan Dance), MARTIAL ARTS (Tai’Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido), and HEALING ARTS (Yoga, The Alexander Technique, and Feldenkrais).

Nia provides revolutionary fusion fitness through its approach of tuning into your body’  sensations, and moving organically. By addressing the whole person, Nia’s systemic workout leads to falling in love with the JOY of movement and living more fully in your body.

Nia is Non Impact Aerobic exercise, choreographed with form and freedom, set to sensual and eclectic world music. Nia is done barefoot and is appropriate for all fitness levels.
