Thank you to Marmi!  A Company with Compassion

The Wolff family, owners of Marmi, helped found The Wellness Community of Greater St. Louis

(now Cancer Support Community) 18 years ago.

Many thanks to the Wolff family, owners of  Marmi, for including Cancer Support Community in their September 15 – 17 Grand Re-Opening Event festivities to celebrate the shoe store’s move to a new location on the upper level of the Galleria near Nordstrom.   Many activities over the three days showcased the new venue and Cancer Support Community, including a reception to meet the owners, Gary and Sherry Wolff; a fabulous raffle with all proceeds donated to CSC; and a fashion show with CSC participants modeling Marmi’s gorgeous shoes.

The Wolff family’s commitment to Cancer Support Community began more than eighteen years ago, when Marsha and Gary Wolff helped found The Wellness Community of Greater St. Louis, our former name.  Sadly, Marsha lost her cancer battle before the doors were opened.  Today, Gary Wolff and his son, Todd, remain actively involved participating on our Board of Directors and Junior Board, respectively.  We’re grateful to the Wolff family for generously donating 10% of their weekend sales and raffle proceeds to us.

Thank you also to Vicki Bensinger, owner of At Home with Vicki Bensinger: In Home Culinary Classes, for the fantastic appetizers at the "Meet the Owners" Reception on 9/15.

About Circle of Hope Bracelets

In 1999, the first Circle of Hope Bracelet (COHB) was designed by jewelry-maker Fran Lefrak-Brown of St. Louis, Missouri. Fran, a breast cancer survivor, made a commitment to donate all of the profits from her jewelry business to causes that fight cancer.

Fran’s message of HOPE for the bracelets is Hope, Optimism, Peace of Mind, and Enthusiasm for Life. The bracelet certainly acts as a tangible bond for cancer patients, their families and their friends when spirits need lifting. But the Circle of Hope Bracelet is much more universal: It is a life symbol and a visible connection – a sign of unity among those involved in the fight against cancer.

Sadly, Fran passed away in 2002 from metastasis from breast cancer. The COHB organization lives on, thriving and growing, and annual sales have reached more than seven times the 2002 level. The Circle of Hope Bracelets organization is a living tribute to Fran, a beautiful legacy that she has given us, an expanding community committed to the cancer fight. Reflecting the interests of our volunteers, Circle of Hope Bracelets donates nationwide to dozens of charities that cover a broad spectrum of cancer types.
