Networking Groups

 Share your concerns, learn and connect at our Networking Groups.

These groups are designed for attendees with similar diagnoses or life situations to meaningfully connect with others who "get it", share stories and information helpful on the cancer journey,and develop support networks.  Family and friends are welcome to attend where indicated.

All Support and Networking Groups are free, led by licensed facilitators, and funded in part with generous donations from the Harvey Kornblum Foundation, Missouri Foundation for Health, St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer, and St. Louis Service Bureau, Macy’s Foundation, Nordstrom,  Gertrude & William A. Bernoudy Foundation, Ameren, Moneta Charitable Foundation, Dana Brown Charitable Foundation, Philpott Family Foundation, The Siagh Foundation, Lung Cancer Connection, Missouri Baptist Healthcare Foundation and the Arenberg Family.

Groups are not open for observation at any time and are only for people with a cancer diagnosis
and, where indicated, their loved ones.

Bereavement Networking Group

2nd Thursdays monthly 6:30-8:00 pm

This new support group is a place for adults who are entering the next stage in their grieving process to connect and share with others.

 
Family and friends welcome.

This networking group is drop-in with no reservations needed.

Brain Tumor Monthly Networking Group

A caring environment in which to learn about and discuss issues associated with brain cancer: memory, cognitive losses and challenges, communication, and the impact on family. Family and friends welcome.

An educational and emotionally safe group in collaboration with Mercy Hospital St. Louis - for women newly diagnosed and survivors, female family and friends. Focus is on education and discussion of relevant issues such as fear of recurrence, intimacy, body image concerns, reconstruction, and weight management.

Colorectal/Gastrointestinal/Bladder Cancers Monthly Networking Group

Designed for those affected by colorectal, esophageal, gastric (stomach), liver, gallbladder, GIST, and bladder cancers, this group provides a forum for discussion and education on sensitive issues associated with these cancers, e.g., managing ostomies, lifestyle changes, body image, sleep, diet, post-surgery issues, etc. Family and friends welcome.

Gynecological Cancers Monthly Networking Group

When treatment ends, many cancer survivors are surprised to find that they need an opportunity to discuss transition from active treatment to a post-treatment life.  This group will be open to adult survivors of any cancer diagnosis who have completed active treatment.   A guest speaker will be present every other month.  Speakers will address the many issues related to survivorship.   Discussion will follow.

Lung Cancer Networking Group

Lung Cancer Networking Group!

1st Thursday evening of each month, 6:00 - 7:30pm


Location: Cancer Support Community

Group begins with Q & A  provided by an oncology nurse, followed by group sharing and support. A nurturing environment in which to learn about and discuss coping skills, disease management, and quality of life during and after treatment, among other issues.

Next Step Connection Monthly Networking Group (Formerly Survivor Networking Group)

Connect with others who are finished with treatment or on maintenance treatment and are empowering themselves to get back into life. A guest speaker will be present every other month to address the many issues related to survivorship.   Discussion will follow.

Ann Arenberg Pancreatic Cancer Monthly Networking Group

Attendees exchange stories, treatment tips, and share concerns re: quality of life, intensity of diagnosis, nutritional issues, etc.  Family and friends welcome.

Prostate Cancer Monthly Educational Networking Group
